“Laptop coaching is beyond my thoughts” – Danish Kaneria mocks Pakistan cricket for appointing Mickey Arthur as online coach

Former spinner Danish Kaneria has criticized Pakistani cricket for its decision to appoint Mickey Arthur as online coach. He sarcastically asked if there was a coaching drought in Pakistan since Arthur was a full-time coach Derbyshire.

talking about his Youtube channelKaneria said:

“Laptop coaching is beyond my imagination. What is that? This is an international team. Mickey Arthur’s contract is with Derbyshire. Do you have a shortage of coaches in Pakistan or around the world?”

acc ESPNCricinfo, PCB will appoint Arthur as team director of Pakistan. There will be no head coach. PCB is instead looking for assistant batting, bowling and fielding coaches to work with Arthur.

The former South African cricketer may not join the Pakistan team for the Asia Cup 2023 due to his involvement in Derbyshire in the County Championship season. However, he will likely travel with the team at key events like the one ODI World Championship 2023 and the test tour of Australia later that year.

‘The decisions are made to make the world laugh’ – Danish Kaneria slams Pakistan cricket

Kaneria continued to slam PCB for poking fun at Pakistan Cricket for their infamous decision. He added that players don’t listen to full-time coaches. In this scenario, an online coach will only ruin the Pakistan team after their forgetful home season.

He said:

“When there is a coach, no one listens to him. Why do they listen to an online coach? The decisions are made to make the world laugh. We’re already fighting. We can’t win in our home series and now in online coaching.

The statement came as Babar Azam and Co. lost the ODI series against New Zealand 1:2. Pakistan were also glossed over 3-0 at home by England last year. The men in green were also unable to win a match in the two test series against the Kiwis.

Next up will be Pakistan in March in a three-game T20I series against Afghanistan. Babar Azam and company will then play a five-game T20I series and as many ODIs against the Blackcaps in April-May.
